Auditions

Georgia Shakespeare will be holding auditions for its 2012 Will Power Ensemble on Saturday October 8th, from 10:00am.-6:00pm Auditions will be held on the third floor of the Conant Performing Arts Center on the campus of Oglethorpe University, 4484 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.

Georgia Shakespeare is seeking four versatile actors with a passion for education. These four Teaching Artists will tour metro-Atlanta and the Southeast in productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Will’s World, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in addition to conducting workshops. The contract dates are January 7th –May 25th, 2012. The pay is $400.00 a week with benefits.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues, one of which must be from Shakespeare.

If you auditioned in January 2011 for The WPE Ensemble it is only necessary to audition again if you desire to.

Actors will,


  • Act in the mainstage summer festival,
  • Earn 10-15 EMC points,
  • Take master courses in stage combat, movement, text, and voice,
  • Housing will be provided during this time on the campus of Oglethorpe University. 

Applicants should have strong training in classical theatre and hold a college degree in theatre performance. MFA performance degree is preferred.
